COVID-19 Update

We find ourselves again facing another year with the uncertainties and unexpected problems the COVID 19 pandemic continues to have on our business. 

We are currently seeing the combined combination of Brexit and an unprecedented demand for timber playing havoc with supply levels. In the last quarter alone we have seen timber costs increase by close to 25%, and at short notice shifts in timber supply change.

Whilst we are using everything in our power to try and keep abreast of the situation, unfortunately some things are completely out of our control. We will of course always endeavor to fix things as quickly as possible.

As summer holidays are cancelled we are more and more finding that people want to spend money in their garden. The reality in the building industry currently is that supply lines are fragmented and patience is required.

It is with this in mind we are seeing a worrying trend of underhand tactics from builders and installers of goods of attempting to charge people should there be any delay in supply. Having spent the vast majority of our time prior to Contemporary Gardens being involved in the installation of fencing I would implore customers that getting paid for not working is not the norm. We have times whereby we continue to employ people but are awaiting timber supplies, and this is part and parcel of the give and take of running a business.

We must therefore insist upon a zero tolerance policy towards us paying towards works that are delayed, and we would always strongly advise customers to allow your goods to arrive prior to firmly booking in installers - and please don't be bullied into paying for work that can not be done.

We would like to update you on the current situations surrounding your Contemporary Gardens order, and our service overall.

As you will all be aware the COVID 19 pandemic continues to have fluctuating effects on supply of all products, and this is no different with ourselves.

This is has coincided with a period of unprecedented demand within the industry. We have had to, as a business, grow quickly and adapt to meet this demand.

We have over the course of the last week managed to suffer a machining malfunction, costing us 2 days production and have had our phone lines down. These are now available, however, our internet now also appears to be down. We are dealing with this to the very best of our ability.

Further to this we also managed to lose several days delivery last week as due to our courier systems having been completely wiped out by a lightning strike, losing there tracking and delivery input.

We as a company can easily understand any customers concern with regards the situation, but would like to reassure you we will be responding to the queries we have received as quickly as possible in these unprecedented times and would like to thank you for your patience.

While we do make every effort to stick to the delivery dates, in a covid world delays do happen. With this in mind book installers/fitters at your own risk. Unfortunately we're not able to take liability for things out of our control.

The ongoing COVID crisis continues to affect our everyday lives and here at Contemporary Gardens, we are no different as the reality of dealing with the crisis continues to be felt.

We are currently open as normal, albeit with an increase in our delivery timescales.

This process has been an ever-evolving lesson for ourselves as a business, as well as for our suppliers and couriers. The shifting balance is making it challenging for our employees, and we are grateful for our customers understanding in the matter.

For our part we have ramped up our production capabilities and introduced a shift pattern. This is whilst keeping to government social distancing and cleanliness guidelines. Please bare with us as we are doing all we can to react to new situations daily.

Above all we wish all our staff and customers all the best of health during this extremely trying time.

We now offer a service where you can select your delivery date. You can choose this when checking out on the cart page. Notice: Our delivery slots are booking up very quickly, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Please note that for all orders placed before the introduction of this service on 2nd June, we are attempting to wherever possible stick to the 17 - 20 working days quoted at point of order.
